We’re looking for stories to form new resources for learners aged 0-18 years. These will be used across Communities of Learning|Kahui Ako, early learning (kōhanga, puna reo and ECE centres etc), primary and secondary school including te reo Māori classes, immersion/rumaki units, kura and wharekura.
Applications for story ideas are open from 21 August to 8 September (3 weeks).
Your story needs to cover one of these topics:
New Zealand History
Stories relating to the history of New Zealand eg, Māori land wars, Tangata Rongonui, Ngā kōrero o nehe.
First Encounters 250
Stories connected to the first encounters between Māori and Pākehā 250 years ago eg, traditions associated with ocean voyaging, navigation and discovery.
Women’s suffrage – celebrating 125 years of New Zealand women having the vote
Stories about people who have made a significant contribution to women’s rights in Aotearoa New Zealand.

If you are successful we’ll contact you in October with the next steps in the process. We hope finished resources will be ready for schools to use by January 2019.
