Wakefield School will remain at Hope Community Church today. Approximately 184 students of their 270 students attended yesterday. The school has posted information for parents on their Facebook page, and we suggest parents contact the school directly for further information.
Wakefield Playcentre and Little People Preschool are expected to reopen today.
School transport resumed normal routes today with the exception of Pigeon Valley. Updates are available on this website. If parents have any questions about transport, we encourage them to contact their school directly.
If conditions change it may result in further school and ECE closures. Again, we suggest parents check their school or ECE’s website, Facebook page, or ring them directly to see if they will be open. Schools and ECEs will be taking instruction from Civil Defence should evacuation zones change. However, they can also make their own decisions about the safety of students and staff.
Our local staff are providing advice and support to affected schools and ECEs in the region and will continue to support them as needed.
